Itemization

I recommend starting off with 5 normal wards and 4 potions of your choice. However you can also start with 3 wards, 3 potions and regen item for mana or health which can be used to build Philosopher stone faster, but it won't allow you to be on your lane for a long time (at least a safe and warded lane..). So when you have ~1000g gold you should recall and buy the philosopher stone and a few wards, 2-3 sightwards and a vision ward to control dragon. Afterwards build your Ruby sightstone and boots of speed asap... but just because you have the Sightstone doesn't mean you should stop buying additional wards! So always buy some additional wards. Than as you get to the midgame you should get Aegis of the Legion asap and ofc upgrade it to the Locket of the Iron Solari, this will help your team during a fight quite a lot with the Magic Resist buff and the Shield it grants when activated. Support usually don't get much gold so in most cases you won't get much past Boots, Shurelya, Solari and Sightstone as you have to spend all the money you get on wards and oracles. But if the game lasts longer than usually you can afford to buy some additional items, vs a team that has a lot of AD damage I recommend building the Randuin's Omen or Frozen Heart and vs a more AP team I'd recommend building Banshee's Veil or if you want to have some more damage and no one else has it, build the Abyssal Scepter. Do not forget to always buy WARDS and if possible ORACLE! Remember - Vision is the key to Victory!

Flash/Exhast is pretty much the standard for a support champion, but if they have annoying champions that heal a lot or they have a lot of abilities that can heal or you just want to contribute with some additional damage you can consider taking ignite. For example vs Swain or Volibear, ignite is rather good if used properly!
